Not pretty ambience — tools. Five narrow bands centred on 1.5 kHz (voices through a wall), 3 kHz (where speech is most concentrated), 4 kHz (keyboards and clicks), 6 kHz and 8 kHz, plus a pink noise with a notch cut at 4 kHz. The principle is simple: to cover a noise, putting the energy in that noise's own band costs far less volume than broadband white noise does. The notched track is the one people use for tinnitus — the notch frequency is left empty while everything around it plays normally. Five-minute seamless loops.
